ABORTION =

Genocide

"From the Nazi death camps in Germany to the lynchings in Jim Crow America, Armstrong points out that supporters of genocidal violence have always justified their lethal acts, often with legislative and court-sanctioned rationalizations."

...pro-abortion forces today argue that an unborn child, especially prior to a certain stage of development, is not a person...

The Supreme Court said the same thing about the black man in 1857, again using a developmental criterion...The Nazis held that Jews and Eastern Europeans were subhuman and, therefore, did not deserve the rights of personhood under the law.

The Genocide Awareness Project is making an effort to bring the realities of abortion to college campuses."

Update:

by Rusty Pugh

...A mental health professional says it's disappointing that most of the doctors in his field ignore the evidence that women suffer serious mental problems for years after having an abortion.

A study published this week in the open-access journal BMC Medicine
reveals that for five years following an abortion, women suffer higher levels of mental distress than other women -- even those who have had a miscarriage.

Dr. Warren Throckmorton -- an associate professor of psychology at Grove City College and past president of the American Mental Health Counselors Association -- says his profession is not sensitive to this issue.

"And I believe, in part, it is because of political concerns that my profession does not want to provide any support for the pro-life movement [or] for people who are wanting to restrict abortions," Throckmorton shares.

"So this is, in a sense, embarrassing news that as many as 20 percent of women are still experiencing significant emotional distress five years after an abortion."

Throckmorton says this should be a wake-up call to the mental health professionals regarding the impact of an abortion on a woman's mental health.

{Seems to me, that the profession is "willing" to overlook the fact that women may need some counseling to overcome their "choice" RATHER than admit
the pro-life crowd may have some legitimate arguments. Nice......}

A Visit from Beezle

by Brad Locke
from Agape Press

'Twas the night before Christmas, I sat on my couch.
My brain was not stirring, just call me the Slouch.
My bedtime was past, but what did I care?
I must watch SportsCenter, and of sports stay aware.

My thoughts they were nestled, all snug in in my head,
As visions of Chris Berman, dulled all sense of dread.
Kenny Mayne and his drollness, Stu Scott's big ol' yap,
Left in my brain not even the faintest synapse.

When out of the tube there arose so much chatter.
I opened my eyes to see who'd gotten madder.
Up to the camera a man had just dashed.
He'd cut off Jim Rome, and his "take" on Steve Nash.

The man had bad breath (don't ask how I know).
He said, "My name's Beezle, I come from below.
"When what to my sleep-crusted eyes should appear,
But a pitch for my soul with an arrogant sneer

With a little cajoling, and his rapier wit,

Beezle convinced me that he wouldn't quit.
Quite like an eagle he sunk in his claws,
As he whistled and mocked all of my great flaws:
"Your mouth's full of rancor!
Your heart lacks conviction!
Your comments are stupid!
I loathe your contentions!
I bring you a torch
To light up your faults!
I'll grind away, grind away,
'Til I see you fall!"

As fear o'ertook me, and my mouth did go dry,
I stared at this obstacle of my own design.
I pondered in wonder what course I should choose,
With a soul full of grief, and a heart that did rue.

And as I sat thinking of all Beezle's proof
Of my dancing around the cold, heartless truth;
As I drew up my knees, I dare not look up now,
For Beezle was coming right into my house.

Through my big screen, he first stuck his foot,
As he climbed in he gave me the evilest look.
A bundle of sin he'd flung over his back,
And he looked like a lawyer about to attack.

His eyes -- how they smoldered! His wrinkles, quite scary!
His cheeks were like coals, and his nose a blackberry!
His thin little mouth was drawn up in a smirk,
And the beard on his chin was as dark as wet dirt.

The stump of my will he held firm in his teeth,
And a snake encircled the head of this beast.
He had a cross face (and yes, breath so smelly),
And he shook when he laughed as my legs turned to jelly.

He was muscular, fit and quite sure of himself,
And I gasped when I realized my soul's ailing health.
A wink of his eye and a nod of his head,
Soon gave me to know I had plenty to dread.

He spoke hurtful words, and went straight to his work.
"You're nothing," said Beezle , "but a sports junkie jerk.
Your ten idle fingers type meaningless prose.
To reality your mind and your heart are tight closed."

I sprang to my senses, my courage did bristle.
My fears flew away as the truth became crystal.
I loudly exclaimed, "I'm a weak sinner, you're right.
But you can't convict me; I rest in Christ's might!"

Happy Birthday Jesus!

But we are not going to worship you on Sunday, the 25th this year as your birth conflicts with Christmas!

Good grief.

The ULTIMATE day to worship and churches are CLOSING their doors!

Read about it here: Agape Press and here Agape Press

Can we say "Hypocrisy"?

If your church is one of these who will NOT be open on Christmas day for the worship of God and Jesus Christ, you need to re-think your church!

What right can we have to criticize and threaten boycotts of retailers who will not wish us a "Merry Christmas" for OUR holy day (holiday); and then we can't be bothered to go to church on Christmas day to thank and worship our Lord who sent us the BEST CHRISTMAS gift ever? Jesus Christ.

SHAME ON YOU.

As for me and my church, we'll be open. We'll be worshipping and offering sincere praise for our Lord's gift of Jesus.

For those of you whose church has determined that family and presents are more important, we invite you to worship with us.

While God does want the family to be a loving and cohesive unit and wants relationships to be wonderful, it would behoove us to remember our priorities as given to us by God.

God first,
Family second,
Job last.

And for the rest of you who will not be worshipping God and Christ on CHRISTmas morning, I hope you will at least attempt to offer a prayer of thanks and wish Jesus a happy birthday.

Worship with us at First Baptist Church

and MERRY CHRISTmas!

Christians Standing by Israel

from Agape Press
by Paul McGuire of The Paul McGuire Show

Paul McGuire has called on Christians around the nation to more actively support the nation of Israel.

Some Christian groups who believe "that God is finished with the nation of Israel" are practicing "replacement theology," which is the belief that the Church has replaced Israel and does not have the right to the land of Israel.

A careful study of scripture reveals that God made an everlasting covenant with Abraham and his physical descendants. "Everlasting means everlasting!"
McGuire continues.

"The Jews have been promised the physical land of Israel from God. It is the responsibility of Christians to stand for the nation of Israel. In addition, it is impossible to understand Bible prophecy without understanding God's plan for the Church and the nation of Israel."

~~~~~~~~~C~B~N'S~~Thoughts~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since Jews will have a prominent role in the end times (Revelation chapter 7), it is the Church's folly to adhere to this "replacement theology". Those who do will find that God's judgment will fall on them~~as they are left gazing upward AFTER the rapture.....
Jesus IS A JEW. He was born a Jew and He died a Jew.
It stands to reason that when He returns as King of kings and Lord of lords, that He will STILL be a JEW. He will worship God as a Jew. He will follow the feasts and festivals that God gave to Israel and that Israel has followed for all this time.
He will not place Christmas trees in the temple! He will not celebrate Easter. He will not become Catholic, Baptist, Methodist.
Rather, He will complete what was started but never finished. He will teach us ALL the proper way to worship God~~the covenanted way to worship God.
The Jewish way to worship God!
If you turn your back on Israel, you turn your back on God and Jesus.
When you turn your back to God and Jesus, you have made a choice~~albeit one that has eternal consequences.
The CHURCH had better wake up and learn the Bible. A true Christian does NOT practice "replacement theology".
A true Christian does NOT turn his back on Israel.
Borderline Treason
from Agape Press
..."Borderline treason."
by Bill Fancher
That's how one retired military commander is describing the remarks of some Democrats who continue to attack the White House policy on Iraq.
Following President Bush's speech on Monday on the progress of the war in Iraq, Democratic leaders continued to criticize the effort.
That led to this response from Maj. General (Ret.) Paul Vallely.
  • "Howard Dean and even John Kerry ... and many of the others that are [against] the conflict that we have -- trying to going over there in Iraq, trying to bring democracy there -- their remarks are borderline treason because they simply, with their remarks, aid and comfort the enemy." {Cindy Sheehan and her supporters as well......}
He believes the Bush administration is on the right track. "When we get the security forces up and running to the degree where they can provide their own security in Iraq, then we can draw down those forces and reposition them at other bases, not only in the Middle East but back in the United States," he says.
Vallely predicts victory in Iraq -- and the return of troops by the end of 2006.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another democracy in the Middle East is sorely needed. They are too few. If we pull out too soon and the Islamic fascists regain control then what was the point? Then the sacrifices of our young men and women who have died WILL have been in vain. Vietnam should have taught Democrats that.

Miracles do still happen

This is absolutely amazing!

from Agape Press

...Shayna Richardson says that when neither of her parachutes would open on her first solo skydiving jump, she told God, "I'm going home. Just don't make it hurt."

The Arkansas woman told the CBS "Early Show" that she does not remember slamming face-first into a parking lot at 50 miles-per-hour. She spent 16 days in a hospital, undergoing multiple surgeries.

Richardson said it was there she found out she was pregnant. She says she would not have jumped had she known she was expecting.

Richardson, whose baby is due in June, told CBS, "You can't imagine how blessed I feel, to be alive and then to have my baby be healthy.

It's just more than I could ever have imagined or expected. You know, I prepared for the worst and I got the best."

The lackluster Nobel

13 December 2005 from MSNBC Online News

Hating America key to Nobel Prize
(Joe Scarborough)

Hey authors, want to win the Nobel Prize? You can increase your odds by doing one thing: telling the world how much you hate America.

Men of average intellect {Like Pinter...} in fields outside of literature also find their reputations burnished by the Nobel Committee in return for bashing George Bush and American foreign policy. Ask Jimmy Carter, who was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize a few years back for setting up a diplomatic framework that allowed North Korea to go nuclear.

Billy Carter couldn't have screwed that one up any more than his overmatched, self-righteous brother. Still, I guess we should thank our lucky stars that Billy's overtures to Libya were ignored by the Nobel Committee in the 70's.

But these days, the true anti-American haters seem to litter the literary awards category.

This year's winner, Harold Pinter, loathes America in a way that would make Hugo Chavez blush.

In his recent Nobel lecture, Pinter compared the United States to the Soviet Union-a regime that killed up to 40 million of its own people. Then Pinter took it a step further by lamenting the fall of that evil regime since Stalin and his type provided "constraint" against US policies.

Pinter then described America's foreign policy this way:

"It means that you infect the heart of the country, that you establish a malignant growth and watch the gangrene bloom. When the populace has been subdued - or beaten to death - the same thing - and your own friends, the military and the great corporations, sit comfortably in power, you go before the camera and say that democracy has prevailed."

The author then cited "the tragedy of Nicaragua," mourning the fall of that "intelligent, rational and civilized" Marxist regime. Pinter placed the Sandinistas' downfall at the feet of the United States.

Funny, but I remembered the Nicaraguan people chasing those rational Marxists out of power in the 90s.

Ahh. But facts always bored Pinter and his type. Later in his lecture, this year's winner became unhinged, accusing American leaders of employing Jedi mind tricks on an unsuspecting world. {Oh gee, if only.....what a moron. Kind of demeans winning the Nobel Prize now~~not much a prize anymore. Oh, it's about the MONEY!}

"The crimes of the United States have been systematic, constant, vicious, remorseless, but very few people have actually talked about them. You have to hand it to America. It has exercised a quite clinical manipulation of power worldwide while masquerading as a force for universal good. It's a brilliant, even witty, highly successful act of hypnosis.

"I put to you that the United States is without doubt the greatest show on the road. Brutal, indifferent, scornful and ruthless it may be but it is also very clever. It's a scintillating stratagem.

"Pinter blasted the system of "gulags" in the United States, as if letting murders, rapists and child molesters run free in the streets of American cities is a preferable option. He also used his Nobel platform to call George Bush and Tony Blair war criminals who should be arraigned before the International Criminal Court of Justice.

I could reprint more of his drivel in this space but you get the point. This bitter man, whose greatest contribution to literature involved his putting his pen down-the Pinter Pause-got a Nobel Prize because of how much he hated America.

The United States of America is the root of all that is evil in this world, according to Pinter. Never mind the fact that my country has spent the last century liberating the world from Hitler's Germany, Stalin's Soviet Union, Milosevic's Serbia and Hussein's Iraq. {All despots & tyrants; all murderers; all paranoid, bitter, manipulative men.}

Forget also that we are spending our money and blood to kill al-Qaida terrorists who would blow up Pinter and his countrymen in a second if the author succeed in reversing US foreign policy. {Ummm~~it's getting to the point where maybe the "Pinter's" of the world should get what they wish for..........}

But America will not surrender to terror.

We will not surrender to al-Qaida.

And we sure as hell will not be cowed by a diseased mind like Harold Pinter.

The Progeny of Hitler

{Hitler would be so PROUD!}

Personhood Defined
from Agape Press
by Mary Rettig

{C~B~N's comments enclosed}

Senior fellow, Wesley Smith, at the Discovery Institute says the changing definition of personhood in contemporary society will have a profound effect on everything from abortion and euthanasia to assisted reproductive technology{Very similar to Hitler's breeding for the perfect "Aryan" nation.} and embryonic stem-cell research.

Smith maintains that the United States of America was founded on the premise of the great value of human life and that all human life, regardless of mental or physical capacity, is important. {Gee, where did we crazy Americans come up with this idea? Try Jeremiah 1:5! Our Founding Fathers knew and followed the Bible. They founded this country based upon the Biblical principles God imparted through the Bible. To state otherwise, is to show your ignorance of our history. Just because you don't like it, doesn't mean you can re-write it.}

An idea known as the "personhood theory" is taking hold. Especially in bio-ethics and higher education circles. {Bio-ethics, what an OXYMORON.}

Personhood Theory defined-- Does the organism have sufficient cognitive capacity to be deemed worthy of things such as life and bodily integrity; and if IT does, for example, by being self-aware over time, IT can be called a person.

So, while the words "person" and "human" were at one time considered synonyms, he observes, "increasingly in the universities and among the elite, that is no longer true."

{Elitism--the group or part of a group selected or regarded as the finest, best, most distinguished, most powerful, etc.

The definition in itself isn't too bad but when an elite group in power determines who qualifies for life then it is a DANGEROUS thing. Who are YOU to determine who deserves life? Are you God? NO. Don't believe in God? Then I sure don't want you determining someone's fate because to a godless person, life is CHEAP.}

Putting criteria on what it means to be a person devalues all life by putting a quantitative value on it. Once such definitions are established, they would likely change with whoever is in power at any given time, putting the weak and the marginalized in society in a perpetually vulnerable state.

{The elderly, the poor ~~anyone who can no longer "contribute" to society would receive the death sentence; regardless of past contributions. Unless, you are of the "elite" group.

Let's face it. IF the elite could drain the life force out of us in order to live forever, they would! And not suffer one little bit of conscience.

I don't have much respect for the elitists of society. They are not the ones who build society. When viewed with the contributions of the working man, they are the ones who really are expendable. What they contribute is neglible compared to the working men and women of the world. And No, I'm NOT talking communism here. Communists had no more respect for the working man than the elitists have. The 'haves' in communism WERE the elitists. Their talking mouth pieces expounding about the glory of the working man was just that: empty words to get the people to support them. The reality is they left the working man and woman poorer than when they started.

If the elitists kill off all undesirables according to them: the mentally handicapped, the physically handicapped, the religious (oh, yes, we would be in this category), the poor, the elderly, etc. What is going to stop them then from adding others to this list? Anyone who doesn't have a MENSA IQ? Earns at minimum $250,000 a year? Has a career as opposed to a job?

Realistically, if they do this then who exactly is going to grow their food? Dispose of their garbage? Repair their electronic toys? Invent those toys? Clean up after them? Build their homes, business buildings? Buy their products? Etc.

I can just imagine a college professor tilling a field.....a rich man driving himself to the dump to dispose of his garbage .....a politician begging for more money for his pet project from the rich because there are fewer and fewer tax payers each year due to our undesirability....how about the rich picking up after themselves instead of their maids or butlers.....
......................................................yeah right. That's gonna happen!}

"I think defeating personhood theory in the marketplace of ideas may be the most urgent matter facing this society," Smith adds, "because if being a human being is not what gives moral value, but instead we decide it is personhood theory or some other measurement, then value rights depend on who has the power to decide.

{What a terrible world these elitists envision. Too bad their hind sight cannot see this now......}

Designer Babies~~more from the legacy of Hitler: he would be so PROUD.

Just because we CAN do a thing doesn't necessarily mean we SHOULD do a thing..... [paraphrase from 'Jurassic Park' by Michael Crichton]

"It seems particularly important this year to look up at the sky and wonder at the majesty of babies created by the great Creator. If we are dissatisfied with His grand design, how can we feel any greater satisfaction at our own handiwork?

Perhaps we would be better off accepting all babies that arrive at the doorstep, giving praise for their blessing to our lives, opening the door, and making one more bed in the inn."

Letter to Cindy

Sheehan From the Proud Father of a U.S. Marine
from Gary L. Bauer's American Values

8/30/2005
Ms. Sheehan,

By your actions over the past two weeks it is clear that you missed an important aspect of Civics 101: With rights come responsibilities. You certainly have the right to voice your opinion against the war in Iraq and the President's policies. You even have the right to camp outside the President's home in Crawford and demand he meet with you. Your status as a mother who has lost a child in the war also gives your words and actions a credibility and a larger audience than otherwise would be the case. Now that your supporters have given you a broad forum from which to be heard, making you a national figure, its time you considered your responsibilities to all of us. I have a daughter set to deploy to Fallujah in two weeks and I have a serious concern with how your irresponsible and short sighted actions might impact on her. She is, after all, a volunteer, like your son, and she is going in harm's way because she believes it is her responsibility to protect your rights and freedoms.

Well meaning people like you always seem to forget the law of unintended consequences and in your vanity and arrogant self-righteousness never bother to think through what it is you are trying to do versus what you may actually accomplish. I am here to inform you, Ma'am, that you will not change the policy of our government by sitting outside Crawford making a spectacle of yourself in the name of your rights to free speech; what you will do is provide more propaganda for our enemies and cost the lives of even more brave and selfless American warriors.

How long do you think it will be before you become a star on Al Jazeera? For all I know, it may have already happened. One thing is certain, though, and that is that your actions and words will further embolden a ruthless and evil enemy and more American blood will be shed and some of it will be on your hands. I pray that my daughter will not be one of them. If she is, then I will hold you and those like you partly responsible. Yes, my daughter's fate will depend mostly on her own courageous decision to serve, but only the most naive among us can deny the impact our own words and actions here in America have in a world grown smaller by the revolution in communications technology.

I am sure you believe that you are serving some great cause by putting our servicemen and women in more danger and that you can, by your irresponsible exercise of free speech, help end a policy you disagree with. Your emotion may be compelling but the reality is that you will not set in motion any process that will change or undo what has been done. The war will go on because to end it now would dishonor the sacrifice of all of our fellow countrymen who have died in the cause of fighting terrorism. Rational Americans will not allow that. Too much is at stake. Unfortunately, shallow and irrational ones, such as yourself, will continue to put the lives of our sons and daughters in danger by aiding and abetting an enemy who sees propagandizing in the mass media as its main weapon in a war it could otherwise not win standing on its own wretched and evil justification of radical Islam, or by force of arms. You, Ma'am, have joined forces with an evil you neither understand nor apparently have tried to comprehend. You direct your anger toward our country while the enemy plots to kill and maim the innocent. You make a mockery of responsible free speech while thousands of young men and women fight desperately to preserve your safety. Instead of honoring your son's sacrifice you are inspired to comfort an evil enemy.

You clearly do not understand the challenge we face as a nation and have not tried to put it in historical perspective. It is a sad fact that it is those of your thinking that have led us to where we are today. Decades of appeasement to these haters of everything we hold dear has cost thousands of American lives from Beirut to New York and in dozens of other forgotten places. Remember Lockerbie? The Achille Lauro? The USS Cole? We as a people were dragged into this war, much like December 7th, 1941, and we must fight and win it wherever the enemy hides and against whomever would support him. Make no mistake about Iraq. It is both a legitimate and crucial campaign in this much larger, global war of radical Islam's making. These people hate us for who we are, not what we have done. We did not bring this on ourselves, as many would have us believe, by our policies and actions abroad. We brought this on ourselves in 1775 when the Founding Fathers embarked on a course of freedom, tolerance, and liberal democratic and social ideals. These haters of all we hold dear strive to destroy forever a government "of the people, by the people, and for the people" that Abraham Lincoln hoped would never "Perish from the earth". They would replace it with an oppressive world theocracy unlike anything modern history has ever seen for its ruthless disregard for personal freedom and liberty. If more appeasement is your answer for an alternative policy, spare us. We have suffered enough from cowardice and inaction.

An historical analogy screams to be let out here. It is one of two men, both named Chamberlain. Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, a school teacher turned soldier in the American Civil War, found himself in the crosshairs of history on a warm July day in 1863 on a small hill in Pennsylvania. Commanding the 20th Maine Regiment on the extreme Union left at Gettysburg he was in a most perilous position. Should he fail to hold against a strong Confederate attack, the Union could be lost. You see, he was serving in an increasingly unpopular war at home against a resurgent enemy, and for a President fighting for his political life. Colonel Chamberlain, stoic but determined, refused to yield. His small regiment held against an onslaught of Confederate attacks, an action many historians believe turned the tide of the war. He was later awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. The other half of this analogy focuses on Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister of Great Britain in the years preceding World War II. His story is widely known. Through his policy of appeasement and a lack of moral courage, he handed Adolf Hitler much of Europe. Which side of history have you chosen, Ma'am?

Your son died in the service of freedom and my daughter will go in harm's way to protect and preserve it. Honor their sacrifice, Ma'am, by exercising it responsibly.

I will pray with you and I will grieve with you but I will not stand by silent while you needlessly and arrogantly endanger the life of my daughter and her comrades in arms. Please bless us with your silence and go home.

Brantley Smith

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This is well stated and supported by most conservatives in America. We don't go searching for wars and trouble. But when they come to us, we will stand and defend our way of life. Never will we willingly give up our Republic~~certainly not for a theocracy.
While many of us would love to see our warriors come home, until the job is finished it would be foolhardy to do so. Vietnam taught us at least that much.
Public Prayers
I received an email to sign a petition that would go to President Bush requesting our right to pray in the public schools be re-instated.
C~B~N of course signed and sent it on to various friends and family members. One of my siblings wrote back:
"It isn't that I don't want prayer in the school, but whose prayer? Jews are offended by Christian prayer, Christians are offended by not praying to Jesus, and then you have the Muslims. That's another story altogether. So how do you do this? I don't believe Christians can insist it be ONLY Christian prayer."
This was my response which I was then told to blog! So here it is:
"It doesn't say this is ONLY for Christians. (Although, this country WAS founded by Christians.) This is for anyone who wishes to pray in schools to have that right. If we don't fight for this, then we cannot complain when they take 'under God' out of the pledge and 'In God we trust' off the money. Prayers before football games asking for the safety of the players will be banned. Prayers before the Senate or House will be next. Your right to bless your food in public will be attacked because YOU have offended someone. When is enough ridiculous poop, enough? Then we really will be living in a godless society.
We are not asking Jews to pray in Jesus' name. We are not asking Muslims to pray to our God~~they can pray to Allah.
All we want is the RIGHT; our Constitutional right to Freedom of religion~~not FROM religion; to pray without being threatened with lawsuits or jail.
Just a thought...."
FYI, nor do we want to force people to pray who do not want to pray....atheists can still be atheists; agnostics can remain agnostics; but nor do I believe THEY have the right to dictate to me what I can or cannot do~~especially since 83% of Americans believe in God.
'trust in God'? why then does the USA need the most powerful army in the world and the biggest collection of Nuclear weapons?
C~B~N's Response: I'm not sure how a blog about our right to pray ties in with the United States having the biggest collection of nuclear weapons and the most powerful army~~but here goes:
While Americans are not perfect~~we don't profess to be~~we are a pretty generous people and always have been. We also believe that all people should have freedoms~~of religion, of speech, etc. We tend to help and support the underdog against regimes that deny their countrymen these freedoms.
Rather than criticizing America for having this arsenal of weapons, perhaps you should instead be glad we have had them ~~as they have been a big deterent from countries that would attempt world domination (Communist Russia; the Islamic Middle East). Had we not had the weapons, Russia would not have backed down. What would the world be like then? Communism is a dismal failure. It never took into account the greed of men. Say what you will, Detente' works.
History doesn't change because men don't change. Whatever name they go by: Alexander, Napolean, Hitler, Hussein; their goal is always the same.
While America may be criticized that she is only protecting her "oil" interests~~I'd say the declaration of war made in September gave us the right to defend ourselves. We didn't fly jet airliners into civilian businesses. If anyone in the Middle East thought we would "rent" our clothing and weep and wail; they don't know us then. Yes, we will weep; we will also go after the murderers who planned this. Ask Japan.
And God still was able to make something good come out of all this for the Iraqi people for whom open elections were the result.
Yet many Americans are getting tired of the criticisms. Many believe we should go back to a policy of isolationism. We will take care of our own; YOU take care of yours.
This always struck me as a very selfish, self-centered attitude~especially from a nation that has so many blessings. Yet, I cannot fault my fellow Americans attitudes. However, were we to do this, we would still be criticized!
So, we're damned by others if we do and we're damned by them if we don't.
I guess for now, we will continue to muddle along doing the best we can, trying to be fair, impartial, kind, and generous. If we make mistakes, well, if God can forgive us who are you NOT to?
The Power of Language
{conservative~by~nature's comments enclosed}
{Language is POWER. Words have a powerful affect. Whoever wrote that old childhood saying: "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never harm me," was either wishfully thinking this or had no CLUE! While sticks and stones can physically hurt, words are much more "killing'. They can destroy self-esteem and initiative. Therefore, it is imperative that all conservatives and Christians fight the negative language the other side is using to characterize us with. If we don't, they will be the ultimate losers~~there will be no one left to witness to them who so desperately need it!}
Let's face it, liberals over the years have been effective in requiring the public and the media to use terminology they have reinvented to engage in philosophical debate.
Political correctness {anathema to Christians.} has played a huge part in contributing to the general atmosphere in the media where clever word usage is an important tool in changing public thought and or policy.
  • 'Choice' - Who isn't against choice? Everyone is for choice! Yet this word has been used by liberals for several decades to eliminate any negative connotation when discussing the abortion issue. "Pro-choice" is certainly a better term than {IS} "pro-abortion." Abortions are an ugly business. In most cases the fetus is extracted from the uterus, often dismembered. Yet whose choice is it? It may be the choice of the mother, but how about the baby who does not have a choice? The reality of abortion is something liberals don't want to debate.
  • 'Gay' - For centuries, gay was defined as "merry, happily excited or lively." {I'm still ANGRY that such a great adjective has been appropriated by these activists and now no one can use 'gay' anymore EXCEPT homosexuals!} Homosexual activists have reinvented this word to define their lifestyle. It's odd, {more like IRONIC!} isn't it, that the term "gay" would be used to describe a lifestyle that (on average) lowers the life expectancy of homosexual males by over 20 years? That's according to the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta -- not a statistic just dreamed up by opponents of homosexuality.
  • 'Fundamentalists' - The meaning of this term has changed over time into one with a very negative connotation. Liberals, especially since 9-11, have used it to compare conservative Christians to Wahabe Islamists and the Taliban. {oh, yeah, we KILL those who disagree with us....get real. The absolute worst I will do to non-believers, is, GASP, PRAY for THEM!!!!} While this comparison is absurd, liberals in the media have used it to wage war against religious Christians. They do this in part by demonizing Christians and by calling them "fundamentalists." They imply that all conservative Christians want a theocracy, condemn others to hell, wish to punish sinners, and militantly want to force their religious beliefs on others. {Not true. We don't want a theocracy~~Islam is the PROOF of that one! But we do want the RIGHT to worship : it is called Freedom OF religion, not freedom FROM religion. Nor do I want others to be condemned to hell or to see sinners punished. Nor do any Christians I know. What we do want, is the right to share the gospel of Jesus with non-believers. But we are NOT going to be gleeful or vindictive should you choose NOT to believe. Nope, the worst we will do is pray for you. At my age, I know that you cannot FORCE anyone to do something~~well, you can, but it won't be a true conversion to whatever it is you are trying to force upon them. They'll do it to preserve their life, but will never BELIEVE it~~radical Islam PROVES it does NOT work. Nor would radical Christianity. Once again, every Christian I know does NOT want to force their beliefs on anyone. This is just Liberal Propaganda! We want to share those beliefs and let you decide~~although, we are hopeful you will see the wonder of a God that was willing to die for your sins!}
  • 'Intolerant' - Webster's definition of this word is "unable to endure, unwilling to endure, or unwilling to grant equal freedom of expression especially in religious matters or other social, political or professional rights." Liberals have effectively eliminated the "religious matters" part. They see religion, especially the Christian religion, as intolerant. The use of this word by liberals reveals their goal of avoiding all forms of judgment. If conservatives critically question liberal ideas, they are immediately labeled as "intolerant." Yet liberals cannot see that their intolerance of religious people defines that term.
  • 'Homophobic' - This term cannot even be found in my Webster's dictionary. Yet we have seen this term applied to anyone who disagrees with the homosexual lifestyle. This is yet another way for radical homosexuals and lesbians to intimidate and harass any who dare oppose them in the political and social arena. {I find that "labels" on people tend to be ugly and are meant to be. They are used to belittle, to denigrate, to demonize, and to DESTROY. It is up to each of us to STOP this in its tracks.}
  • 'Diversity' - This word reeks of political correctness. While diversity is a good word that describes "a condition of differences," the word is also used by liberals to put forth the notion that any kind of differentiation is bad. In the liberal world, making personal judgment calls is wrong -- and diversity tells us that every lifestyle should be accepted and promoted.
All pundits of various social, political and cultural persuasions prefer to use key words in making their point. (Personally I like to refer to owners in the adult industry as "smut peddlers." {Quite apt, I think!} ) Even so, I have found most liberal pundits have been effective in using their favorite words to direct public opinion their way. Perhaps they would not be as effective without their friends in mainstream media.
But like other long-time newspaper readers, I've grown tired of news stories becoming an "analysis" for liberal causes. Maybe this is why we have seen newspaper readership drop steadily over the years, and alternative media becoming more popular. Just food for thought! {Good food it is!}
{You'd think the newspaper publishers would snap to this~~especially since so many are facing bankruptcy! You cannot be so far off base of the general mind set, which is Conservative and Christian and ATTACK those mind sets and then EXPECT them to buy your newspaper! It would be interesting, however to see if any newspapers that are conservative are having financial difficulties as well, or is this just a liberal papers conundrum?}
The Oklahoma Lottery Christmas Tree
from Agape Press
by Jim Brown
"A Christmas tree decorated with used lottery tickets by elementary school students in south central Oklahoma City has been removed from the state Capitol.
The 'lotto tree' was entered by Westwood Elementary in a Christmas tree decorating contest at the Capitol. School spokeswomen Sherry Fair said students had been studying the state lottery, and know that lottery money helps public schools -- so they developed the theme about the 'gift of education,' she explains. However, citing a lapse in judgment, Principal Jan Borelli apologized and asked that the tree be removed.
State Representative Randy Terrill says the lotto tree was 'incredibly inappropriate and distasteful.' The state lawmaker knows the Reason for the season."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ah, but there is another "outlook" on this! Perhaps, the Oklahoma state Legislature did not like being reminded that proceeds from the state lottery is SUPPOSED TO HELP THE SCHOOL DISTRICTS!

I suspect, just like Texas, the schools of Oklahoma have not seen one cent from those proceeds!

The lottery passed in Texas in part because the state Legislature along with Gov. Ann Richards (Democrat) PROMISED that a fund would be started with the proceeds of the lottery to fund education in the state of Texas.

I left the state of Texas for about 5 years shortly after this PROMISE. When I returned, I discovered that the state of Texas has not helped ONE SCHOOL DISTRICT WITH THOSE LOTTERY PROCEEDS!

I wasn't shocked~~I know lies when I hear them~~it's why I voted AGAINST the lottery. But what I did find shocking was that the teachers of this state have not held the Texas Legislature ACCOUNTABLE for this promise. And the teachers' unions who in my opinion do more evil than they do good; have completely missed out on this battle~~a chance to do some good!

Oklahoma Legislature's can state they know the Reason for the Season and profess shock that an elementary school would decorate a Christmas symbol~~the Christmas tree~~ with secular, evil lottery tickets; but perhaps it was one elementary school's goal to get their Legislature to do what they had PROMISED TO BEGIN WITH!

Perhaps this is God's way of taking a bad thing~~a state lottery~~and turning it around and having good come from it~~a better education for these children.

Oklahoma and Texas:

Release the funds. Quit holding our school children hostages to poor education.

OR Ban the lottery~~because it passed based on your lies!

Bigotry in the Educational System

One day, an ape escaped from the zoo. His escape was announced on the nightly news and in the newspapers. But no one reported seeing the ape. Eventually, zoo officials found him reading at the library. He had two books open and a puzzled look on his face. One book was written by Darwin. The other was the Bible. When the zookeepers asked him why he was reading, the ape said, "I'm trying to figure out if I'm my brother's keeper or my keeper's brother."

Kansas has truly seen the full spectrum of Evolution, Creationism and Intelligent Design this year in their schools. The high schools are adding Creationism and Intelligent Design to their curriculums to give differing theories equal time; whereas, at least in one college, they have ridiculed these particular theories.

"Dr. Paul Mirecki, chairman of the Religious Studies Department {How does a non-believer become chairman of Religious Studies? That seems an oxymoron to me.} at the University of Kansas, announced he would be initiating a new course next year called 'Special Topics in Religion: Intelligent Design, Creationism, and Other Religious Mythologies.' " Read the full account here:
Agape Press

But before this course could be re-titled and developed, Dr. Mirecki has decided to not teach it after all. Why would an obviously liberal professor back down from trying to invalidate these two theories?

Perhaps because he was nailed emailing the university's Society of Open-Minded Atheists and Agnostics, a student organization for which he serves as faculty advisor, calling Fundamentalist Christians "fundies" and bragging that by calling these theories "mythology" he has done his part to "tick off the religious right". He also stated that this was "a slap in their big fat face."

Well, not the most tolerant of emails. But at least Dr. Mirecki holds no surprises for us Fundamentalists! We recognize his kind and can deal with them. They don't really threaten us~~because we also have the Constitution of the United States to defend our rights. At least for right now.....

After apologizing, he determined that because of this brouhaha, "the important subject matter of the course 'would not be well served' by the learning environment his e-mails and their public distribution had created."

By backing out of teaching this course, I think he did the right thing as I don't believe it was in his belief system to treat Creationism and Intelligent Design as "important subjects". He was man enough to recognize this.

He was also big enough to admit "he had erred in not leading by example in demonstrating the importance of discussing differing viewpoints 'in a civil and respectful manner.' " It takes a mature person to be able to admit when his attitude is wrong. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt~~that the apology was not just so he could keep his job or placate the irate "fundies".

This is what society needs to work on today. People are not cut out by cookie cutters. We are different and diverse. We should be mature enough to be able to debate our differences without belittling each other; without being disrespectful; without being downright hateful.

Many times, we will NOT EVER see eye to eye on certain issues. But HATE should NEVER have a place within anyone's heart. Ultimately, it only destroys you~~not your so called "enemies".

† † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † † †

No, the Dr. Mirecki's are easily recognized throughout campuses. The ones to worry about are the ones who teach at our Christian schools and universities who have this same attitude~~because these "profs promote their own personal agendas which seek to tear down the foundation of the faith."

"Dr. Paul Mirecki is obvious. Thank you, sir. That philosophy, theology, or biblical studies professor at your favorite institutional bulwark of orthodoxy might not be. And that is where the real cultural wars of this country ought to be taking place." Read the full commentary here: Agape Press

New Website for College Conservatives

from Agape Press
by Jim Brown

A new group vows to expose and combat liberal bias on university campuses and has launched a website to help in achieving that goal.

The Network of College Conservatives has been launched to provide a voice for students who are being harassed, intimidated, or even shouted down on campus because of their conservative or "right-wing" beliefs.

Christopher Flickinger, a columnist for Human Events Online, says he founded the Network to help those students get a well-rounded education because, according to Flickinger, "they're certainly not going to get it from their professors in the classroom." {That's the truth.}

Flickinger says he has already received a good share of hate mail because of his new site, noting college administrators and professors view his website as a threat to their power. {When in reality, College is supposed to be a place of learning where many ideals are dissected and discussed. This does not happen anymore. No, only the liberal agenda is worthy of study and has any validity~~therefore, to give college students options and choices IS a threat to the small minded liberals.}
