EUTHANASIA WARS

America, our government is at it again. As if the horrendous murder of Terry Schiavo was not enough earlier this year, the Missouri State Assembly along with their Gov. Matt Blunt has drastically cut Medicaid expenditures.

I know we need to tighten our belts. But we cannot do so at the expense of the health of even one person in our country. Rather, why don't these men and women in government take a pay cut? Like the rest of us, they can live on less money.

Their tax cuts are declaring that some health-care items can now be designated as "optional equipment,"~~ this includes feeding tubes, nutritional formula, and ventilators! Once Medicaid has denied something, it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get that item covered again.

Since when did any of the above mentioned items become "optional" in the care of even one individual? They are not optional items. And by allowing them to be designated as such is sanctioning the death penalty on more innocent Americans, because not all families will be able to afford these items! Once again, the poor pay the price.

I don't want to hear societies' excuse of "quality of life". Ultimately, IF IT IS YOUR LIFE, it has quality; but if it is someone else's, too many of you are too quick to "pull the plug".

I was truly appalled at how many Americans wanted to do just that to Terri Schiavo. She was not in a comatose state. And what a horrible way to die. This country allowed a woman to starve and dehydrate to death. When we can treat prisoners or animals better than honest citizens, then something has gone horribly wrong. Death comes to all of us. It comes at its own time. Just who are any of us to determine when it is time for someone ill or mentally handicapped to die? Since when, America, have we become god?

Yeah, some of you are out there saying, "well, I don't believe in God."

My response: Then I sure don't want YOU determining my fate! You have no respect for the sanctity of human life. Why should you, when you believe we oozed out of the primordial muck. Or you believe that abortion is ok. So, of course, it is ok to murder someone who is brain damaged, retarded, imperfect.

Perhaps the Terry Schiavo's of this world do not contribute to it. But that does not make their lives any less precious~~someone loves them and cares for them. I know God does; whether you believe in Him or not!

Jeremiah 1:5 "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born, I set you apart and appointed you as my spokesman to the world."

If God can say this to Jeremiah, He can say it to you! He can say it to all of us.

I just don't believe any government branch should have the right to decide that a brain damaged individual is deserving of the death penalty. Because that is exactly what Terri was given. What was her crime?

Giving the judicial branch this kind of power is truly a mistake. Firstly, because they are not the branch to "make laws". They are to enforce the laws of the land, nothing more. Secondly,it opens a lot of doors that should NOT be opened.

Will they next determine that all preemies should die because it is very expensive to try to save these little babies. Or what if you have a Down’s syndrome or autistic child? What can possibly be their contribution to society? Many of them will never live normal lives and may in fact drain the coffers of society through social security and other programs. Will they decree that you must abort these babies?

What about people who have Alzheimer’s? They no longer contribute to society. What about old people in general? Wow, think of the money that could be saved if the Supreme Court decided that at age 65 you are no longer productive, so for the betterment of your country you have to die. (Sounds like a movie......) Watch out aging boomers~~you who are really going to drain Social Security!

Finally, what about welfare recipients? They surely do not contribute to society. Shall they go on the supreme courts ‘soon to die’ list?

This just smacks too much of Hitler and his socially engineered programs of elimination. The whole world professes SHOCK that it happened in Germany. Yet, here it is happening in modern day America!

“All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing”
Edmund Burke

And just where does it stop?

It should NEVER have been allowed to start.

I believe we need to let the court know that it went too far and created powers they do not have and it will not be tolerated.

We the people, will not tolerate this flagrant abuse. That ultimately, the government, the courts, and even the President answer to the American people. They are our employees. And it is time to remind them of this fact. Because too many in government feel like they do not have to answer to anyone. The power they have~~given to them in trust ‘by the people’~~is being abused.

Missourians, you better let your governor and state assembly know right now this illegal attempt to murder your loved ones will not be tolerated.

Everyone should be guaranteed their Constitutional Rights~~especially all the Terry Schiavo's of our country!

Finally, “Speak up America.” Be heard. If you don’t fight for your constitutional rights NOW, you will NOT have any tomorrow.

And it will be your children and grandchildren who will pay the price for your laziness.
